Pocosin Arts is located in the small town of Columbia in northeastern North Carolina. We are situated on the Scuppernong River a few miles from the Albemarle Sound and are surrounded by water, wildlife and natural beauty.  Pocosin Arts is located downtown, close to several restaurants, a wine/coffee shop, public library, hardware store, grocery store and assorted shops and churches.  Our program of regular workshops, classes, and special events sustain a small group of artists.  Columbia is a hospitable town and Resident Artists are encouraged to join and participate in Pocosin Arts’ community events and activities. Candidates who can enjoy the pace of a small town will thrive at Pocosin Arts.

Pocosin Arts is now accepting applications for our ceramics resident artist position. This 12-month appointment starts June 2016 and includes:

•Furnished housing with kitchen and laundry facilities
•Dedicated studio space in our fully-equipped ceramics studio
•Paid teaching opportunities for youth and adult workshops
•Plenty of distraction-free studio time
•$300 monthly stipend
