Resident Artists
Resident artists are selected based on a competitive pool of applicants from across the country and abroad, working in sculpture, functional pottery and design. Residents are chosen based on the quality and strenth of their work, clearly expressed goals for residency and the dynamics that fit the studio at a given time to foster the excellence and diverse creative atmosphere of STARworks Clay Studio. Ceramic artists who are at a crucial stage in their career and require an opportunity to experiment, refine and formalize studio practices are encouraged to apply. Residents are encouraged to use their time to push personal, professional, technical and conceptual limits.
Residents will be provided with subsidized housing, studio space and up to 500 pounds of STARworks Ceramics clay bodies each month in exchange for assistance with studio maintenance and helping with events, workshops and occasional teaching responsibilities. STARworks maintains a shared apartment that can be rented by residents for $250/month per person.
