Message from Alexa McAdams - alexamcadams@northernclaycenter.org We are seeking Studio Art and Ceramics students for volunteer opportunities during Northern Clay Center’s 20th annual American Pottery Festival, September 7 – 9, 2018. This event serves as our largest annual fundraiser and provides chances to engage directly with some of the best ceramic artists in the field during image presentations, workshops, lectures, panel discussions, and casual gallery chats. Workshops provide an informal and intimate classroom setting for students to learn from instructors from across the country who are not normally in the Midwest. APF offers ample engagement and learning opportunities for students who choose to volunteer. Students who volunteer 8 hours of their time will be provided a day pass on Saturday or Sunday to workshops and lectures ($45-$65). Students who volunteer 4 hours before or during Friday evening will be issued free attendance to the opening night party ($25 per ticket). Volunteer duties include working in the kitchen, gallery, and studio spaces in the 2 weeks leading up to the event. Volunteers also will have a chance to interact one-on-one with artists during the volunteer thank you party on Saturday night of the weekend-long festival. To register to volunteer, visit: https://www.northernclaycenter.org/support/volunteer/volunteer-apf Additional information about American Pottery Festival: https://www.northernclaycenter.org/apf Please reach out to me with any questions regarding American Pottery Festival or volunteer opportunities for students. If your students are interested in traveling to Minnesota for this event, we would be more than happy to help find lodging options. Regardless of the ability to volunteer, we welcome everyone at this event and value the attendance of students in particular. For a $5 door fee on Saturday and Sunday, there are free lectures on the half hour, visiting artists roaming the halls, and coffee is on the house! We would love to share this wonderful learning resource with your students!
