The Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation has announced the recipients of its 2017 Biennial Awards and one of our alumni, Peter Pincus, was one of them. Peter received his BFA (2005) and MFA (2011) in Ceramic Art from Alfred University.
Born in Rochester, NY, Peter Pincus is a ceramic artist and instructor. His work has been exhibited in important events and venues throughout the United States. He has worked as the Studio Manager and Resident Artist Coordinator of the Flower City Art Center for Arts and Education in Rochester, NY, and as Adjunct Professor of three dimensional studies at Roberts Wesleyan College. In Fall 2014, Peter joined the School for American Crafts at Rochester Institute of Technology as Visiting Assistant Professor in Ceramics.
The purpose of the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation is to give artists the opportunity to produce new work and push the boundaries of their creativity. 30 recipients were chosen from a pool of 156 nominees proposed by national nominators. In May, the Foundation will publish a full-color catalogue documenting the work of grant recipients with images and biographies.
