David CrenshawDirector, Digital Fabrication Facility
crenshaw@alfred.edu David Crenshaw, originally from Washington D.C., is ceramic artist and the Director of the Digital Fabrication Facility at the New York College of Ceramics at Alfred University in Alfred, NY. He utilizes the “teapot” to explore his interest in using new technology (CAD, CAM, CNC machining, and Additive Manufacturing) to expand and push the physical limits of ceramic materials, aesthetically fluid, graceful, feminine materials, and join them with sculptural metals, aluminum, brass, and copper, whose versatility, strength, and weight, represent the masculine. Together they make a harmonious whole. Mr. Crenshaw earned a BA from the University of Delaware and an MFA from Arizona State University.
